Love, Actually

I just saw this on the Daily Candy, I must-check-this-out!

Love, Actually
The Rosenbach's Love Letters Tour

The last love letter you received came with a mix tape, pimply grin, and grammatical errors (“your really cool”).

And you still have it taped to your fridge.

Take your romantic notions this Friday to the Love Letters tour at The Rosenbach Museum & Library.

The lost art of passionate pen pals is up for discussion in the interactive exhibit, with original letters from poet John Keats to Fanny Brawne (who’s back in the spotlight after Bright Star), as well as forgeries of Shakespeare, telegraphs to Marlene Dietrich, and sweet nothings written by Martha Bloom.

And don’t expect just G-rated hugs and kisses: There are pieces that deal with jealousy, include racy details, or highlight the longing of a Civil War soldier.

Would you like to go?

Love Letters, Friday, 3 p.m., at The Rosenbach Museum & Library, 2008 Delancey Street (215-732-1600 or rosenbach.org).

Shades of Yesterday

I'm such a sucker for the color yellow, it always catches my eye, without fail! That's why I especially love Sharon of Addie Design's treasury, titled, Shades of Yesterday. Such creamy yellows, like buttermilk...I'm honored to be a part of it! Thanks Sharon! Your artwork and jewelry are lovely!

Upcycling For Your Pet

Thanks to Lauren (Dear Golden)'s blog, I came across Brad and Ashley of Vintage Renaissance and their adorable upcycled pet beds made from old suitcases! I love this idea so much and they made them in such an adorable way! I wonder if I could get one for my dog (it would have to be an xl suitcase, I'm afraid:) This strikes a chord with me as I was talking recently with my stepfather about how thrift shops won't even take vintage suitcase donations anymore! I guess people aren't interested in buying luggage without wheels nowadays. I hate the idea of cute old luggage pieces getting sent to landfills, what a waste! Old luggage has so much more personality than new, all black, blah pieces. Travel used to be considered so glamourous and luggage was made to be special and befitting. I'm so psyched to see that Brad and Ashley are breathing new life into these old gems and giving our kitty friends napping spots with style!

Dear, Dear Golden

I can't believe I'm only finding this shop now! What rock have I been hiding under??
Everything in the Dear Golden shop is so right on the money, Lauren's taste is brilliant! Delicate color palates, delicate designs, my heart skips a beat!
I helped myself to this awesome sweater, perfect for fall, right? Well, it arrived lightning fast and I couldn't be happier. I'm sure I'll be buying from Lauren again very soon!

Time Flies

Hello blog,

I have been neglecting you. I'm very sorry, its been a busy summer with lots of changes. I've missed you and I hope that I can get back in your good graces?
I'm sure going to give it a try.
